Cannes Lions 2018 Recap
“80% of brands believe they deliver great consumer experiences. Only 8% of consumers agree.” – Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
We kicked off the week in the South of France at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Eight Inc. Founder and CEO, Tim Kobe was on hand at this years festival. His views on “Accelerating Creativity in the age of AI” reminded us about keeping that human connection. Getting to the point where real creativity occurs is one of the biggest AI challenges we continue to face.
In another talk, Tim shared thoughts on “What’s next for branded consumer experience”. The overview featured examples from successful brands including Apple and Lincoln and resulting to a high return on experience.
The festival featured insights, inspiration and innovation talks from the creative industry. Additionally, the prominent Lions awards show remained a key highlight. While attracting over 16,000 attendees from 95 countries, there were more than enough moments of personalization to bring an intimate experience. The festival was full of enthusiasm and excitement. Which, also gave creatives the opportunity to learn and build relationships.
We collaborated with an extraordinary team to celebrate the festivals 64th edition. The International Advertising Association, IBM iX and Cannes Lions TV were amongst the few we partnered with. For the first time, Cannes Lions broadcasted a selection of the program to interested viewers not able to be there.
Cannes is arguably the industry’s biggest celebration of creativity, resulting to only having the best of the best present.
