The two senior executives will play key hands-on roles delivering Eight Inc.’s global business strategy—Simon Smith as Managing Director of its London studio, Rob McIntosh as Executive Principal in New York.

San Francisco, California, April 3rd, 2019, Eight Inc., a global creative collective united by the belief that design defines human progress. Eight Inc. celebrates its 30th anniversary this year—its latest hires represent the ongoing growth and strengthening of its team. It is expected that this will enable it to continue to evolve its practice and be the leader in a rapidly developing niche.

As Managing Director in London, Simon will work strategically with regional leaders to deliver outstanding creative and commercial results across EMEA.

As Executive Principal in New York, Rob will focus on building the studio’s digital capabilities, enhancing its existing inter-disciplinary engagements, and growing its international client roster.

Simon joins as a business and design leader who operates at senior and board level, integrating creative, strategic and operational functions across formerly siloed businesses. He was previously at The Hut group, developing end-to-end customer experience and content across 128 international e-commerce beauty sites as Group Creative Officer. He has also worked with Arcadia group and O2 Telefonica to deliver and manage the companies’ employee and customer multi-channel experiences.

Rob takes the next step in a hybrid career that has seen him combine strategy, digital and graphics to rejuvenate global brands. He was previously Chief Brand Officer at Esprit, where he brought new life to its heritage brand. He also built the experience design practice at digital creative agency AKQA, implementing it globally with clients including Foster and Partners and Rolls-Royce. Rob has been in-step with every digital revolution during his career while continuing to champion the more artistic values of brand image.
