Eight Inc. is an internationally recognized design studio that creates award-winning environments, products and communications for a variety of clients around the world. We are currently looking for a talented, design focused Program Manager to work on key international client accounts in our San Francisco office. The work is creative, strategic and engaging. The position is fast-paced and requires a high-level of organization and interpersonal skills. You will be working with a very driven and passionate international team focused on delivering immaculate service and creativity to our clients.

The Program Manager manages major projects from inception through completion and are primarily responsible for managing client expectation and ensuring that delivery meets expectations. Responsibilities include create and manage budget and schedules, coordinate design staff, document meetings and work sessions, generate reports, track progress, deliverables and results, and maintain team morale. The PM serves as the primary contact for the clients, internal and external team. It requires an understanding of environmental, industrial, and digital interface design and development workflows, excellent verbal and written communications skills, analytical problem solving skills and attention to details. It also requires knowledge of basic office software, graphic presentation software, database and project management softwares.

This position requires someone who can consistently provide excellent customer service to accounts, as well as represent client needs and goals within the organization to ensure quality. Your experience should demonstrate: The ability to work well with clients and with in-house teams; a strong understanding of the project management process and an in-depth knowledge of Environmental Design.


  • 3-5 years project management experience
  • Knowledge of environmental, industrial, digital interface design or related fields
  • Understands and promotes a design focused development process
  • Demonstrated abilities to manage complex, multi-location and multi-discipline projects
  • Excellent written and communication skills, delivering engaging, informative and well organized presentations
  • Experience with project management analysis and tools
  • Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements
  • Strong understanding of Project Accounting
  • Identifies business development and “add-on” sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project and clients
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities; manages the development of team by ensuring, when possible, that project tasks are in line with each Innovator’s career interests

  • Manages medium to large size projects and is accountable for successful project delivery;
  • Works as part of the Project Team, assisting Principals and Directors with the development of project scope, budget, and schedule;
  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements;
  • Responsible for relationships with client’s project team;
  • Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities;
  • Minimizes our exposure and risk on projects;
  • Responsible for ensuring the team knows and understands the project vision;
  • Reviews internal and external work-in-progress as well as deliverables;
  • Effectively applies our methodology and uphold project standards and best practices;
  • Documents project phases through photos, notes and reports;
  • Proactively manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope;
  • Creates and assembles presentations as needed;
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agenda and minutes;

  • Follow up with clients regarding unpaid invoices as necessary
